Bought a couple of these. They’re not cheap but are really sturdy and work great. Had issues with every usb hub I’ve ever tried. Either it had driver issues, or needed a separate power supply, more wires to run, or was cheap plastic, or got lost on the desk.
These mount to the underside of a desk, or the wall. They’re easy to install. No power cords. Tension on the plugs is great. No complaints at all.
People are truly impressed at the ease and convenience when they hand over a usb drive and you plug it right into the wall. No climbing under the desk with your ass hanging out while you search for the CPU and do the USB flip shuffle.
If you have a desk with grommets, look up the belkin grommet mounted hub, which is also cool.

in general telescope equipment runs on 12V, so i need a USB hub that could sit on the telescope itself to connect to the focuser, cameras, etc. it was easy to mount and it’s working great so far.

I wanted a hub to permanently mount in my camper van and so far it has been perfect. It was easy to install and seems to deal with the varying voltage just fine. I use it to charge my tablet and phone, and to run my USB hard drive.

Seems to be very solid and good quality. Running this in a Car PC setup with 12v. Hasn’t caused any problems yet.
