Using this Super-Speed USB 3.0 SATA Dock and the latest USB 3.0 technology capable of 5Gbps, we saw transfer speeds just under the native HDD’s speed.

This means our Single-Platter Seagate 500GB drive that does 90MB/s average over SATA ran at about 83MB/s over USB 2.0. With this USB 3.0 SATA Dock product, we were able to transfer a 30gb folder of DVD files within 6 minutes. Compare that to over 18 minutes with the same data and same drive on USB 2.0!

We’re sure that with a good SSD drive you could even max out the drive’s SATA 3.0 interface and not even come close USB 3.0′s top speed.
